Care of Environment

We are focusing on learning how to take care of the enviroment in January. I have selected these activities according to his age and the weather as it is cold therefore no activities related to water are added.Following are the practical life activities Hashir is learning this month.

1. Opening Closing doors, cupboards, drawers without making noise. Correctly handling drawer knobs and handles.
2. Learn to put away toys and other house hold items on their proper places.
3. Putting dirty clothes in laundry basket and dirty diaper in  bin.
4. Help in sorting and folding laundry.
5. Cleaning spills with cloth, sponge and tissue.
6. How to carry items from one place to another specially delicate items.
7. Carrying a tray and mat.
8. Rolling unrolling mat. Using mat  for work and play.
9. Opening closing locks.
10. Hanging clothes on clothes line with a clothes pin
11. Learning the names of household items.I have started labeling furniture and things in the room.
12. Help me in making bed, placing pillows correctly and folding his sister Rahmah's small blanket. 
13. Keeping the room clean at all times :)

Our Goals for 2014

Alhamdulillah we are back after relocating and settling in Lahore. These are our plans for the year 2014 insha'Allah. 


Islamic studies


1. Listen to Holy Quran by six different Qari through out this year.
2. Listen to para 30 as much as possible. Repeat one surah daily from last para.
3. Learn the names of prayer in order and learn about the timings of each Salat. Listen to Azaan  and try to memorize it . learn the sequence of positions in prayer. Visit Masjid often
4. Read the Stories of Prophets from the Quraan.


Montessori Practical life


5. Hashir will be Learning to get independent by toilet training, eating independently, taking care of self and environment. We will focus and work on each area on monthly basis.


Literacy


6. Continue flashcard reading and label the things in the environment with their names.
7. Learn to recognize Arabic Huroof e hijaya and learn them orally.
8. Learn to recognize Math letters from 0-10 and organize them in order.
9. Learn to trace straight lines  horizontal vertical and cross directional thus learn to make basic shapes.




Arts and crafts/Computer


10.  Learn to paste , stick and glue things. How to use paintbrush, ruler, rubber, pencil sharpener.
11. Learn computer basics such as operating mouse cursor, clicking ,typing, backspace. Opening and closing a program. Start and shutdown a computer, Laptop.


We plan to start  Preschool this year Insha'Allah
